Get to Know Me

Why did you become an attorney?

I was attending graduate school at the University of Detroit while working on my thesis in philosophy when my father, a long time attorney, was diagnosed with late stage prostate cancer.  I quickly changed my direction and appllied to law school hoping that he would able to see a family member carry on the practice of law, for which he was so very proud.  Fortunately, we were able to practice together before he passed.

What experiences (work and personal) help you to be a better attorney?

Each day I use all my past personal, professionl and life experiences to either modify or confirm my beliefs in order to become a better person and a more capable attorney in the representation of my clients.

What made you choose your primary specialty focus of law?

Family law, Criminal law, and Real Estate have always been ares of law that came naturally to me and seem to be a good fit.  Each time I win a custody or parenting time dispute, property or spousal support claim, criminal jury verdict or even attend a simple real estate closing I am filled with an unbelievable, self-rewarding experience.  I feel that my efforts made a difference for the client and perhaps the community as a whole.

What makes your law firm unique?

We generally do not bill by the hour or for telephone calls.  We deliberately resist implementing modern day technologies in favor of a more personal approach. We try to deliver a desired result in the fastest and most economical way. We not only listen to our cllients, we hear what our clients are saying when they speak.

Describe your ideal client.

One who follows the advice that they paid for and understands the other party's frame of reference while evaluating their own position and what they believe to be the rght answer and approach to their legal problems.

Describe your personal interest and hobbies.

I love to travel with my family, break bread with friends, play polo, tennis and musical instruments, perform card tricks and tell jokes, when time permits.

Describe your charitable activities.

Donate food to Mother Theresa's Sisters of Charity, serve on the Board of Directors for Veteran's Treatment Court, provide pro bono services (free or reduced legal representation) for those in need of a lawyer who cannot afford one and pay for all the living expenses and tuition for two unbelievable daughters.
